Designing, Building, and Learning Through FRC
FRC brings together many kinds of learning at once. A team has to think about the game challenge, the robot’s structure, drivetrain choices, mechanisms, sensors, software, and how everything will be maintained under pressure.
CAD has helped me see how ideas become constraints. A part is not just a shape. It has to connect to other parts, leave room for motion, and be realistic to build.
Systems Thinking
Section titled “Systems Thinking”Robotics is a systems problem. The drivetrain affects strategy. The shooter affects packaging. Sensors affect autonomous behavior. The schedule affects every design choice.
That is what makes it interesting.
A Team Sport
Section titled “A Team Sport”The robot is the visible output, but the team is the real system. Good communication makes better engineering possible.
