Bernoulli Fireplace Grate

The Bernoulli Fireplace Grate is a family innovation project exploring airflow, combustion, CAD, design thinking, and practical engineering. This public overview intentionally stays high level and does not disclose sensitive patent claims, drawings, dimensions, or technical details.

The project may be referenced as an invention project or patent application involvement. Current public-facing reference: U.S. Application No. 19/309,997, with provisional filed August 26, 2025. Do not describe the application as granted unless that status is verified.

This project is a useful example of how everyday problems can lead to engineering questions. How does air move? How does geometry shape flow? How can a physical design be made easier to use, test, manufacture, and improve? It also connects engineering with intellectual property, because an invention has to be described carefully, not just imagined.

For Christina, the project connects physics, mechanical design, Onshape modeling, iteration, and patent strategy. The public story is not about revealing the protected design. It is about showing how a student can move from curiosity to sketches, CAD models, technical documentation, and a more serious understanding of what it takes to protect an idea.

  • Detailed claim language
  • Sensitive drawings or dimensions
  • Overstated performance claims
  • Language that suggests patent grant status without verification
  • Private legal strategy or attorney-client details
